As we are a dynamic, modest and brilliant association of boaters, here is a new newsletter on our news, but if you find us cumbersome and the frequency of our news does not seem relevant to you, feel free not to report it to us. You can unsubscribe or manage your subscription at the bottom of each of our letters.
So we held a meeting on Saturday, November 10th at the town hall of Punaauia (the cmplet report following the link), during which we asked the good will to help us in our task. We have "recruited" a new vice-president who volunteered by proxy, so welcome eric Pinel-Peschardière to the board. His candidacy will of course be voted on in AG.
We discussed at length the Moorea PGEM, and an email to the officials who remained unaccounted for
Answer. The date of the public inquiry is still unknown.
We have some testimonies of people who have been approached on their anchorage in Moorea by Moorea residents who seem to want to already apply the new PGEM in its harshest version and demanding even requiring boats to leave, more or less courteously. If you are aware of or have experienced similar events yourself, please let us know by email, we will build a file that we may submit to the officials.
Pierre Cosso, who was present at the meeting, offered to find the email addresses of signatories of an old petition in order to include them in our list of supporters. It also committed to contacting Customs for their services and obtained figures on boaters' entry-exits per year into the territory. We are working on publishing them.
We discussed the opportunity to make a short video on the realities of the life of boaters, also giving the voice to the inhabitants of Moorea on their feelings about the presence of sailboats in the lagoon. A small informal meeting on this subject and its possibility of implementation has been scheduled. Your ideas are welcome.
We also held Nautique Chips at Casa Bianca on Sunday 11/11 where the AVP stand was stormed as much for the sweet sweet sweets that were there (and that we sold in full), as for the membership campaign which was a great success thanks to Alice who showed remarkable efficiency, thank you Alice. We thank all exhibitors for their participation as well as Claude for the supply of Thermos bottles and hot water that went in.
We invite you all to renew your 2019 membership in the asso that needs you and to have your friends, mooring neighbors, sympathizers, locals, strangers, living, dead (I joke) finally in short all those you know and those you do not don't know yet.
