The 2005 Maritime Space Management Plan currently applies (April 30, 2017) until a new order replaces it. According to Moorea's town hall, the new decree is expected to come after a public utility investigation that would begin after the elections, i.e. at the end of May 2017. The registers of the public utility inquiry remain open for two months and then a rapporteur presents the report and finally the government will draw up a country law that will be enforced by the various delegates of public space designated by the town hall and the town hall itself.
